What is the True 3D Sound Library?

It is a rich and growing library of diverse natural 3D environments that can play in the Cube to provide comfortable and entertaining atmospheres, ranging from foreground and dramatic experiences to ambient and subtle backgrounds. These environments have been installed as exhibit experiences and in a variety of healthcare and workplace settings to provide psychologically appealing and comforting working areas. Such atmospheres can shape the feeling of place. The Library is included with the software license at no extra charge. Additions to the Library are available on-line and can be created by the savvy owner.

What are the considerations for screens?

True 3D software should be operated on an accessible screen. This can be on a computer, a touch screen, an iPOD. It is best to have separate computer- and entertainment screens to allow maximizing the audio visual experience without switching away from the picture.

What kind of loudspeakers are good for True 3D?

The Cube uses all same model speakers and a sub woofer. The speakers are selected to have a correct sound field for clarity at the listening position. They are either active speakers like Genelecs which have internal amplifiers or passive ones like JBL Control which each need a channel of amplification. For TV and DVD sound, a hardware or virtual center speaker is needed. For larger spaces such as theaters and sound tunnels we add additional speakers.

What platforms can host True 3D?

True 3D software runs on a Mac or PC computer with an output port that can connect to a soundcard (digital to analog converter) to receive and send audio.

Square or rectangular rooms are preferred but not required with the TV in the center of one of the walls.

What kind of room measurements and documentation do we need to design a True 3D system?

In order to provide the best sound quality, we need accurate floor plans, the composition of the wall, floor and ceilings, and details on how they are treated or covered - like rugs and hangings. We need locations of electric plugs, lighting and switches. Photos are a great help to our analysis. Suggested location of hardware can then be planned with our team of experts.

Are there any warranties?

We offer a two-year warranty, which includes free upgrades and support of our software. The components are covered by manufacturer warranties.

Can you use True 3D software for longer than two years without upgrading?

Yes. However, if you upgrade your computer, it may not be able to play the version of True 3D you have licensed.

What other requirements are needed for the sound system?

A permanent internet connection is preferred to allow remote maintenance to be preformed quickly and easily. This can be enabled only when needed.
